Chapter II: Purposes of the Code

This Code has the following purposes: a) Strengthen the work of the magazine, the editorial area and all those involved (authors and collaborators) in the process of editing and publishing the writings that intend to be published in the Peruvian Law Review International (RPDI). b) Establish the criteria and values that must inspire the ethical conduct of the authors, collaborators and members of the editorial area and of all those involved in the edition and publication of the works that appear with the seal of the RPDI, in accordance with the principles of responsibility, honesty, transparency and confidentiality. c) Inhibit those practices that affect or detract from the functions of the editorial area, as well as the processes of edition, opinion and publication of the articles of the Magazine.

Chapter III: Principles of editorial ethics

Article 1. Responsibility

Responsibility is the acceptance of the consequences of your own acts, as a result of the decisions you make or accept, at the same time trying to ensure that the people you work with - especially if it is your collaborators - do the same. Therefore, all those involved in the publication process of the Journal, and mainly the authorities, must: Define and publicize the peer review processes in order for the authors to know what the evaluation criteria are. Base your decision to accept or reject a job for publication considering

Only the importance of the writing, the originality, the clarity and the relevance that the work represents for the publications. Always be ready to clarify and justify any controversy in the evaluation process. Guarantee the quality of the material that is published. Always be willing to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when necessary. Do what is necessary to correct promptly and with the importance it deserves when any significant inaccuracy or misleading statement has been published. As well as not tolerating plagiarism or any other unethical conduct and, where appropriate, removing any article that does not meet these standards. As well as deciding in each incident if a specific case is presented to the Ethics Committee (body appointed by the Editorial Board) due to the lack of honesty or conduct of any author. Decide which articles or works can be accepted for publication by the Journal, as well as their publication once they approve the opinion process. The Editorial Board will make the final decision about the articles to be published. Establish the sanction that corresponds to a lack of honesty on the part of the author since plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical conduct and is unacceptable. Possible non-exclusive sanctions are a) that the Editorial Board submit the matter to the Ethics Commission; b) the writing in question will not be published; c) the author may not publish in any edition of the journal for a year; d) if the author commits another breach of the Code of Ethics, he may not submit papers for publication again. In the case of the authors, they must disclose any conflict of a financial nature or other interest that could influence the results or the interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project must be disclosed. Immediately notify the editor-in-chief of the Journal when he discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his published work, as well as cooperate with him to retract or correct the error or inaccuracy. Contemplate and strictly apply the Guidelines and criteria of the editorial process. In the case of the examiners, they must notify the editor in chief of the magazine of any conflict of interest. The judges must not evaluate the writings in which they have conflicts of interest. Notify the editor-in-chief as soon as possible if you are qualified to review the investigation of a writing, or if you are not able to do the revision. Immediately notify the editor-in-chief of any information sufficient to refuse publication of the article or any other writing. Only evaluate the intellectual content of each article or work.

Article 2. Probity

Probity is the act of always behaving with rectitude of mind, without in the work carried out trying to harm or benefit someone, directly or indirectly, always trying to conduct oneself in an honest, straight and faultless manner. Therefore, all the people involved in the publication process should: Not tolerate plagiarism or any other unethical conduct and, where appropriate, remove any article that falls under that assumption; as well as deciding if a specific case is presented to the Ethics Committee due to the lack of honesty or conduct of any author. 6 Cite all the bibliographic sources used in the writing of your works, including citations from your own works, in books and magazines. Reject articles that raise doubts about a possible lack of honesty on the part of the author. The rejection is extended to published and unpublished articles. The editor-in-chief must first seek an answer from those involved, if he does not agree with such answer, he must promote an investigation before the Editorial Board. In the case of the authors, they must include a commitment letter in which they ensure that the material sent is the product of their work and that the data has been obtained in an ethical manner. Likewise, ensure that you have written the originals in full, and that if you have used the work and / or words of others, you have duly cited them. This is particularly important when transcribing texts in a literal way, so they should put those texts in quotation marks and quote the complete source from which the information was taken. They must ensure, in the same Affidavit of Authorship, that the material sent is original and that it will not be published or sent or sent to other institutions to consider publication in magazines or other works. Likewise, you must guarantee that the original has not been previously published. A work will be considered to have been previously published when any of the following situations occur, regardless of the language used: a) When the full text has been published. b) When fragments exte

nsos of previously published materials are part of the text sent to the magazine or other writing. c) When the work submitted to the journal is contained in reports published in full. These criteria refer to previous publications in printed or electronic form, and in any language. Unpublished translated versions of previously published articles will be considered originals. Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution or interpretation of the study. All those who have made significant contributions must appear as co-authors. The main author (s) must ensure that all co-authors are included in the article, and that all have seen and approved the final version of the document and have agreed to submit it for publication. Likewise, it must include the credits of participants, if applicable, in the preparation of specific information on legislation, jurisprudence or any specialized collaboration carried out in the publication. In the case of the examiners, do not use the privileged information or the ideas obtained through the peer review to obtain personal advantages, since such information must be confidential.

Do not show or discuss the content of the works with other experts, except with the permission of the editor. Conduct yourself objectively. Any personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Therefore, they must express their points of view clearly and with valid arguments.

Article 3. Transparency

Except in the cases determined by law and by the Code of Ethics, transparency must be promoted and will consist of the maximum publicity that should be given to all the actions carried out in the process of reception, opinion, edition and publication of the works, committing those involved in said process to offer useful, pertinent, understandable and reliable information. Consequently, they should: a) Advocate as much as possible for freedom of expression; b) Any complaint from the authors must be answered promptly, offering them a solution at all times; c) Notify the authors of a brief description of the judgment process, as well as justify any change in said process, if applicable; and, d) duly inform the author of the phase of the editorial process in which the text sent is, as well as the resolutions of the opinion.

Article 4. Confidentiality

Confidentiality as a principle seeks that all the people involved in the publication process of the works that appear in the Magazine, preserve the secrecy and reserve of all the information that is known in the exercise of their work and whose use cannot be other than the improvement of it. For this reason, you must: a) Maintain and treat the information related to each document confidentially. b) Guarantee the confidentiality of the evaluation process: the identity of the authors cannot be revealed to the judges; nor can the identity of the assessors be revealed to the authors at any time. The identities of the authors and the judges will be protected. c) Along with the editorial team, no information about an original sent will be disclosed to any person other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers or other editorial advisers. d) Do not use unpublished materials, disclosed in an original, in personal research without the express written consent of the author. Insider information or ideas obtained through peer review will be confidential and not used for personal gain. Editors must make fair and impartial decisions and ensure a fair and appropriate peer review process.

CHAPTER IV: Review and publication process

Article 5. The documents presented for publication will be published in the magazine once the process of opinion has ended. All articles accepted for publication will undergo proofreading.

Article 6. The peer review process is described below:

Acceptance: When a paper is submitted for publication, it will be first read and evaluated by the Editor, who may consult the Editorial Board to decide if the article should proceed to the peer-review stage, provided it meets the editorial guidelines and criteria. In this phase, the academic work is submitted to PlugScan to determine the similarity percentage and generate the report. This process may take approximately two weeks.

Peer-review process: At this stage, the submitted research will be examined by two blind peer reviewers specialized in the article's main topic. The allotted time is approximately three weeks, depending on the length of the article. There are three possible outcomes: publishable, not publishable, and publishable with revisions. In the last case, the next step will follow, which involves sending the reviewers' comments and/or suggestions to the author so that they can make the necessary modifications.

Author revisions: The author has two weeks to make the relevant changes and corrections suggested by the reviewers and to send the final version to the Journal. The article will be reviewed to verify the changes suggested in the review and/or the cover letter explaining why all or some of the changes were not accepted or implemented. In this latter case, the Editor, in consultation with the Editorial Board, will decide on the acceptance of the article.

Publication: Once the article is accepted, it will move to a final selection phase alongside the other approved works. At this stage, the Editor, in consultation with the Editorial Board, will determine its publication and assign the journal issue in which it will appear, along with the corresponding DOI and metadata. It should be noted that, prior to publication in the journal, selected articles will undergo a style correction and editing process. To conclude the process, the corresponding acknowledgments will be issued.

Peer Review: The article peer-review process follows a double-blind review system, where the identities of both reviewers and authors remain mutually anonymous. Reviewers will accept the reviewer guidelines and will consider criteria such as the article's contribution to scientific knowledge, timeliness, and methodological coherence. The journal reserves the right to publish and, if the submitted article is accepted, copy-editing and other necessary adjustments will be made to meet the publication's standards.
